Essential Places to eat in Knoxville

6/26/2019

Knoxville is an unassuming, simple town but don't be fooled because a lot is going on when it comes to the food scene. The city's restaurant gaming is strong and is sure to offer something for every type of foodie out there. Whether you are a local or a visitor just passing by, there is something for you in Knoxville. Here's a  list of where you will want to dine in Knoxville.

For the best breakfast: Pete's Coffee Shop
For over thirty years now, Pete's has been the go-to of locals and tourists alike when it comes to delectable breakfast selections. It is a plus that this classic diner added a twist to its interior by placing framed photographs of Little League teams. Their menu features the crowd favorite hash browns, the egg club, which is a generous layer of egg, bacon, tomato, and lettuce, cheese, and mayo.

For those on a budget: Copper Cellar
If you see people lining up for a burger, you must be outside Copper Cellar's restaurant. You can score their mouth-watering burger for as low as $5.50, especially if you come on a Wednesday. If you don't mind paying extra, you can try their more graceful dining experience downstairs.

For best near-university dine: Gus's Good Times Deli
Located down the hill from John C. Hodges Library, Gus's is a favorite to athletes and sports fans alike. You can see the Clint Eastwood collage and an enormous poster of the popular Brazilian footballer Bebeto hanging on the walls of this diner. Indulge in their steam-pressed hoagies with fries on the side and greasy burgers that make them all the more sinful yet satisfying to eat.

For your Italian food cravings: Naples Italian Restaurant
You can get easily fooled to thinking that you are in an authentic Italian restaurant the moment you set foot in Naples Italian Restaurant. From the dim lighting to checkered tablecloths, down to paintings of still life you can usually see in a real Italian restaurant, Naples did well of giving that fine Italian vibe. But it's not just the décor their menu will convince you otherwise. They have chicken saltimbocca, scallops pignole, and pesce puttanesca.

For best nachos: Soccer Taco
Soccer Taco rose to fame for its shredded chicken or ground beef, dip, either sour cream or guacamole on top of home-cooked potato chips, instead of the usual tortillas. Don't miss their standard Americanized Mexican dishes and margaritas and their tacos filled with animal parts such ass tongue, pork stomach, and chitlins.

For your French cravings: The French Market Creperie
When we said that Knoxville is a food haven, we meant it. From local food to international savvy restaurants, Knoxville has got it. The French Market Creperie highlights sweet and salty crepes with ham and cheese as the filling. They also have equally delicious sandwiches made from imported Brie, baby greens, apple slices, and just the right amount of honey and balsamic vinegar on top of a French baguette.
