If you want to improve the appearance of your yard, there is no better way to do it but by planting trees. A property that has trees in it instantly becomes more attractive and becomes alive. Aside from adding to the overall aesthetics of your home, they also have a lot of other benefits. But like any living things, trees need to be cared for to stay healthy and thrive.

We have listed seven easy steps to keep your trees in good shape.

1.  Prune Dead or Broken Branches
Prune dead or broken branches as soon as you see them. These damaged branches can be detrimental to your tree's health if they are not adequately addressed. To check the health of the branch, gently bend it, and if it goes back to its position after letting go, it is healthy. But if it breaks, it needs to be pruned because it may already be dead.

2.  Look at the Leaves
If the leaves of your trees usually are green, but they suddenly turn to yellow, it may be an indication that the tree lacks nutrients or moisture. Fungal infections can also infect it or damaged by insects.

3.  Pay Attention to the Bare Patches
Trees typically have bare patches in winter, but if they don't grow and fill these patches in spring, there must be a problem with the tree. It can be that the tree doesn't receive sufficient nutrients. You apply day mulch or fertilizer at the base of your tree to alter the situation.

4.  Keep Away Insects and Disease
If you see a multitude of insects in your tree, this may be a point of concern because they may infest the tree. Specific species of insects can kill a tree that is why as soon as you see these insects, action must be done.
You should also look for signs of disease such as missing fruit or flowers. If this is the case for your tree, you have to call tree experts right away.

5.  Watch for Wilting
Wilting is very common among trees. It happens because of the lack of balance among critical factors such as the sun, water, and fertilizer. Do not give too much of anything to your trees. Make sure your tree is planted where it can receive enough sun and shade.

6.  Measure Its Growth
You should make a habit of checking the bud growth of your tree every year. You should compare the numbers and see if there are significant differences. If your tree had fewer buds than last year, your tree might have health issues that need to be addressed.

7.  Stick to the Center
If you are regularly pruning your tree, you know that it is vital that it has one central branch where the other branches cling to. Having more than one lead branch can cause the splitting of your tree that will result in your tree dying.
